PROBLEM: Presently, young Australians find the thought of travelling in Australia a little boring and believe a domestic trip will not provide the same level of social currency (social bragging rights) they can get from an overseas holiday.
SOLUTION: Allowing young people to take control and personalize their intended Aussie experience will help alter this perception. The #WanderAustralia campaign showcases Australia in a way that is representative of their lifestyle and reflects their popular culture via the people that hold the greatest influence.
SUMMARY: We Are Social took the campaign offline with a media outreach campaign, targeting key influencers who each received a real-life stereoscopic 3D-viewer, complete with custom reel comprised of their own personal Instagram images. STA Travel Australia supported the campaign across all their 72 retail outlets with multi-media campaign assets and boosted its reach by promoting the #WanderAustralia hashtag across all their marketing channels. STA Travel saw a 22% lift yoy domestic travel sales, instagram following grew by 30%, and 3 million social media impressions were created.
